Trinity University requires all students who live on-campus to carry renters insurance, which covers personal property damages or losses due to fire, theft, or other insurable events. While off-campus students are not required to have renters insurance, Trinity strongly encourages them to consider purchasing a policy to protect their belongings.
Renters insurance can provide financial protection to students in case their personal property gets stolen, vandalized, or damaged while living off-campus. It can also provide liability coverage if someone gets injured inside the student's rented apartment or house.
Trinity University recommends that students research different renters insurance providers and compare their coverage, price, and deductibles before purchasing a policy. Some insurance companies may offer discounts to students or bundling options for auto and renters insurance.
